Two more children have died with measles symptoms in Sylhet. With this, the death toll has risen to 5. In addition, fifty children have been admitted to various hospitals and health complexes in Sylhet with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours.
The two children who died with measles symptoms are Abdullah (10 months) of Jagannathpur Upazila of Sunamganj and Huzaif (10 months) of Srimangar of Moulvibazar. Earlier, three more children died while undergoing treatment at Osmani Medical College Hospital with measles symptoms.
The Department of Health said that 52 more children with measles symptoms were admitted to various hospitals and health complexes in Sylhet division in the previous 24 hours from 9 am on Thursday. Of these, the highest number of 17 were admitted to Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital in Sylhet.
Besides, 20 people have been admitted to Moulvibazar District Sadar Hospital, 7 to Habiganj District Sadar Hospital, 4 to Sunamganj District Sadar Hospital, 2 to Jamalganj Upazila Health Complex, and one each to Fenchuganj Upazila Health Complex and Beanibazar Upazila Health Complex.
As of Thursday morning, 99 people were undergoing treatment at various hospitals and health complexes in Sylhet division.
Of these, 42 are admitted to Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital, 15 to Moulvibazar District Sadar Hospital, 9 to Sunamganj District Sadar Hospital, 8 to Osmani Medical College Hospital, 8 to Habiganj District Sadar Hospital, 3 each to North East Medical College Hospital, Jagannathpur Upazila Health Complex, Bishwambharpur Upazila Health Complex and Jamalganj Upazila Health Complex, and 2 to Fenchuganj Upazila Health Complex.
Another person is undergoing treatment at Mount Edora Hospital, Parkview Medical College Hospital and Baniachong Upazila Health Complex.
