Amid ongoing Houthi drone and missile strikes targeting airport infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the suspension of its flights on the Dhaka-Dammam and Dhaka-Riyadh routes until November 4, 2026.
The national flag carrier issued an official press release on Sunday (October 25, 2026) confirming the extension.
According to the press release, the decision to prolong the flight suspension was taken strictly in the interest of passenger and crew safety, considering the evolving security situation in the Kingdom. All scheduled flights connecting Dhaka with Dammam and Riyadh will remain suspended until November 4 (as per Bangladesh Standard Time).
Alternative Travel Routes via Jeddah and Medina:
To accommodate passengers with urgent travel requirements, Biman advised commuters to utilize Jeddah and Medina international airports as alternative gateways to and from Saudi Arabia.
To absorb the excess passenger volume, Biman has been operating two daily flights on the Dhaka-Jeddah route since October 16, a schedule that will remain in force through November 4. Meanwhile, regular operations on the Dhaka-Medina route continue uninterrupted using state-of-the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
Biman authorities stated that updated flight schedules and further decisions will be communicated in due course. Passengers seeking rebooking, refunds, or travel queries have been requested to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales center.
