PM Tarique Rahman Warns Conspirators on National Revolution Day

Warning that defeated autocratic elements are once again conspiring against the nation's sovereignty, Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman asserted that any plot against democracy will meet a crushing response reminiscent of the historic events of November 7, 1975.

The Prime Minister made these remarks while addressing a massive gathering in front of the BNP central office at Naya Paltan on Saturday afternoon (November 7, 2026), marking National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

Sovereignty and Democratic Vigilance

Addressing thousands of supporters, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman stated, "Just as in 1971, 1990, and November 7, 1975, we stand ready to deliver a fitting reply to any conspiracy. Let today's sovereignty rally be the pledge to safeguard Bangladesh's independence and defend the hard-earned democracy established through the mass uprising of August 5, 2024."

Highlighting political maneuvering by opposition factions, he noted that certain quarters are attempting to destabilize the country and reinstate sham electoral practices. "The people who fought for freedom in 1971, led the Sepoy-People's Revolution in 1975, and ousted autocracy in 2024 can never be suppressed by hidden conspiracies," he affirmed.

From Naya Paltan to Manik Mia Avenue: A Massive Procession

Following his speech at Naya Paltan, the Prime Minister personally led the rally on foot. The procession traversed major city corridors—including Kakrail, Hare Road, InterContinental intersection, Banglamotor, Kawran Bazar, Farmgate, and Bijoy Sarani—before culminating at Manik Mia Avenue.

Reaching Manik Mia Avenue around 4:30 PM, PM Tarique Rahman delivered a closing address from an open truck. "As long as an independent and sovereign Bangladesh exists, this rally for rights and revolution will endure. Let us resolve today to protect our national sovereignty and democratic rights at all costs," he declared.

The high-profile rally was attended by senior cabinet ministers and BNP Standing Committee members, including Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmad, Social Welfare Minister A Z M Zahid Hossain, and Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury. Security forces—including the Police, BGB, PGR, SSF, and intelligence agencies—maintained stringent multi-tiered security protocols along the entire procession route.
