A total of 35 Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated from three European nations—Italy, Greece, and Cyprus—arriving in Dhaka via a special joint flight on Friday (October 23, 2026). The deportation operation was coordinated under the framework of Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency.

Among the returnees, 19 individuals were deported from Italy, 10 from Greece, and 6 from Cyprus.

In an official statement, the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka confirmed the execution of the charter flight, re-emphasizing the European Union’s strict stance against irregular migration. The briefing explicitly noted that there will be zero tolerance for illegal entry and unauthorized stay across EU member states, reiterating support solely for safe, orderly, and legal migration channels.

Warning Against Human Traffickers

The Italian Embassy strongly cautioned Bangladeshi citizens against paying human traffickers or illicit brokers to gain illegal entry into Europe without proper visas.

The embassy warned that individuals opting for irregular migration routes will be systematically identified and deported back to their home country by respective national authorities. Furthermore, such infractions could result in long-term or permanent entry bans across all Schengen zone countries.
